The Tonto National Forest has a requirement for reconstruction of fencing impacted by the Brush Fire on the Mesa and Tonto Basin Rangers Districts located in Maricopa and Gila Counties. All fencing shall be four (4) strand wire with three (3) barbed and one (1) smooth certified barbed wire.
New Fence will mirror location of existing fence as best as possible. Leave enough space to remove existing fence and construct new fence. For example, pull all wire and stays for a visible distance, leaving T-posts and brace posts for reference. Once new posts are set, remove existing T-posts and all brace posts before stringing and stretching new wire. If entire length of fence is pulled first for disposal, entire fence length must be pin flagged for accurate placement of new fence. Ask COR for clarification when location is unclear.
